FOFO is the "yellow flowered plant". This adinkra symbol signifies jealousy and envy. Once the fofo's petals have fallen, they transform into dark and spiky seeds. The Akan have drawn a comparison between the characteristics of this plant and those of a jealous individual. Such a person may cultivate negative emotions and behaviors, causing their attention to be directed towards trivial matters that hold little value.
